Christian Thouvenot, a Frenchman, was ordained a priest by Bishop de Galarreta in the year 2000. Ordained by Archbishop Lefebvre, he was stationed in the south of France, first at the school of Saint-Joseph des Carmes near Carcassone, then in Marseille, before becoming the District Superior of Italy. Alain-Marc Nély, a Frenchman, is currently Second Assistant and has been a priest since 1985. He has served as District Superior of both Switzerland and Germany, and as rector of the Herz Jesu Seminary in Zaitzkofen (Germany).įr. Ordained by Archbishop Lefebvre in 1984, he is 59 years old. Niklaus Pfluger, also Swiss, is currently First Assistant, and has been a priest for 34 years. Consecrated a bishop in 1988, he is currently 60 years old.įr. Elected in 1994, he was ordained a priest in 1982 by Archbishop Lefebvre and served as General Bursar. Altogether there are 31 of them.īishop Bernard Fellay, of Swiss nationality, is the outgoing Superior General. The members of this assembly by virtue of their office are: the Superior General, his Assistants, the Secretary General and the General Bursar, the former Superior Generals, the auxiliary bishops of the Society, the directors of seminaries, District Superiors, and Superiors of autonomous houses. The 41 members of the General Chapter being held in Econe are mostly superiors in office.
